Five Star Technology Solutions is proud to announce its achievement of the 2025 Platinum Bell Seal for Workplace Mental Health from Mental Health America (MHA), the nation’s leading community-based nonprofit dedicated to promoting mental health, well-being, and illness prevention. This preeminent certification recognizes employers who demonstrate an exceptional commitment to creating mentally healthy workplaces.

Introduced in 2019, the Bell Seal for Workplace Mental Health acknowledges organizations that value and implement impactful policies and practices supporting employee mental health and well-being. Five Star underwent a rigorous evaluation by MHA, assessing its workplace culture, benefits, compliance, and wellness programs. Achieving Platinum status places Five Star among the leading employers nationwide, as only two in five meet the high standards for Bell Seal certification.

This significant recognition underscores Five Star’s deep-seated commitment to the well-being of its employees. For Five Star, mental health is not just a benefit, but an integral aspect of employee care. This commitment is evident in their comprehensive mental health offerings, including:

  • Free Therapy Sessions: Through Talkspace, employees and their family members or loved ones (ages 13 and older) have access to confidential therapy sessions. Five Star recognizes that the benefits of therapy extend beyond addressing specific issues, fostering personal growth, self-awareness, communication skills, resilience, and healthier relationships.
  • Compassionate Bereavement Support: Five Star has been named a Compassionate Employer by Bereave. Five Star provides bereavement leave along with dedicated grief support and resources to employees navigating loss.
  • Proactive Mental Well-being Initiatives: Five Star actively promotes mental well-being through regular internal resource sharing and engaging guest speaker sessions from The Rise Journey. These sessions cover crucial topics such as time management, the impact of emotions on finances, burnout prevention, and the importance of self-care, providing practical tools for employees' lives both inside and outside of work.
  • Equipped and Supportive Leadership: Recognizing the vital role of managers, Five Star provides leadership training focused on identifying when an employee may be struggling and how to offer effective support. The positive impact of this training is reflected in the latest employee survey, where 96% of team members feel treated respectfully by their manager and 94% say their manager is mindful when dealing with their personal needs. Furthermore, Five Star’s Chief People Officer and Senior Director of People & Culture are both certified in Mental Health First Aid, with the Senior Director also holding the SHRM Workplace Mental Health Ally certification, ensuring trained support during times of crisis.
  • Emphasis on Work-Life Balance and Flexibility: Five Star understands the crucial link between work-life balance and overall well-being. The employee survey highlights the success of these efforts, with 96% of the team feeling satisfied with their work/life balance and 94% reporting flexibility for personal obligations.

Five Star remains steadfast in its commitment to providing the best for its employees and looks forward to continuing its efforts to uphold the standards set forth by the Bell Seal for Workplace Mental Health.

One of Five Star's top priorities is taking care of our people,” states  Jenna Hoffmann,  SHRM-SCP, Senior Director of People & Culture. “For us, mental health is integral to employee wellbeing. Ultimately, our biggest hope is that everyone at Five Star feels comfortable bringing their whole selves to work. We know that behind every single role on our team, there's a human being, and we want to create an environment where they feel supported and valued.”
